Peace Corps Week February 23rd - March 1st

The Peace Corps Board and the ASU Peace Corps Recruiter are furiously planning two major upcoming events for Peace Corps Week! On February 23rd from 2:00-4:00 at the Civic Center Library in Scottsdale, there will be a large RPCV gathering to share our experiences and host countries with the community. We're looking for people interested in sharing their experiences. If you'd like to sit on a panel to discuss Peace Corps or if you'd like to set up a small country/continent exhibit, please email us rpcvphoenix@yahoo.com. If you just want to attend, we'd love to see you. Also, on Friday, February 28th, we will be having a Hello/Goodbye party to send off PC recruits and welcome back recent Peace Corps Volunteers. This will be a house party in N. Scottsdale. Again email rpcvphoenix@yahoo.com for more details. We'd be happy to have you.

Annual Chili Cook-off

Join us for the 2014 RPCV Chili Cook-off on Saturday January 25th from 5pm-8pm. If you’ve never made chili before in your life NO PROBLEM, its not a contest. Well ok, it is, but a very friendly contest… Here’s some inspiration: http://www.tastespotting.com/tag/chili.

Please RSVP to lizziekazan@gmail.com by January 24th so we can get you the address. BYOB and please help us save the plastic trees by bringing your own bowl+spoon. Also a really great way to have chili tasting is to use a muffin tin:) And don't forget your awesome/inventive/non-conformist/delicious chili.

RPCV PHOENIX BOOK CLUB 2014

If you're looking to add some reading to your 2014 New Year's Resolutions, check out the RPCV Phoenix book club!  (Disclaimer: we're not particularly serious - if the book is good, we'll have a lively discussion, but if the book was a dud, we just hang out, drink wine and gab!)
We've set the books, dates, and locations for the first few months of 2014, so add them to your calendar and get ready to make some new friends.  These are typically the first Thursday of the month at 7 pm.  A couple of weeks before the date, we will post an event on this webpage so you can contact the host for the address.
January 9th - Everything is Illuminated at Rashida's house (see event posting below)
February 6th - Confessions of a Sociopath at Katy's house
March 6th - Where Women Are Kings at Sara's house
April 3rd - The Lowlands at Jenn's house
May 1st - Five Quarters of the Orange at Martha's house.
