June 3rd - Downown Happy Hour @ The Phoenix Art Museum

Come join your fellow RPCVs at our June Phoenix Happy Hour. This Friday, June 3rd, come meet us at the Phoenix Art Museum starting at 6pm for drinks (sorry, no food) and a 6-piece Afro-Cuban and Afro-Brazilian performance. As it is First Fridays, admission into the museum is free. We will have our RPCV Phoenix banner (and hopefully a convenient place to put it) so you can come congregate with us. Check it out: http://www.phxart.org/events/programs.php

Its a Parade! July 4th in Flagstaff

The Northern Arizona Peace Corps Volunteers invites everyone to join the Peace Corps entry in the Flagstaff 4th of July Parade that will be held this year on Monday, July 4th.  The really neat down-home parade through downtown Flagstaff starts at 9 am and has 100+ entries.  Each year the Peace Corps entry receives a wonderful response from the parade crowd of about 10,000 folks.

This year is the Peace Corps' 50th Anniversary Celebration, so our goal is to have at least 50 folks join the Peace Corps entry in the parade.  We also want to have as many of the 139 Peace Corps countries represented as possible.

Everyone is encouraged to wear your finest clothes from your country of service.  Bring a flag from your country or a sign.  We will have materials available to make a sign the day of the parade.  We will also have some neat Peace Corps banners to carry in the parade.

The parade staging area is on the streets north of downtown Flagstaff.  Another e-mail will be sent out the last week of June to let you know the location for the Peace Corps entry staging area and the time to arrive.

After the parade everyone is invited for a non-host lunch a restaurant in Flagstaff.
